Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our Facilities team at County Hall, Morpeth. The role covers food preparation, serving customers, barista tasks, washing up and cash handling with an electronic till. Part-time hours (20 per week) are 8am–4pm, with a focus on food safety and HACCP requirements.

Job Information

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities team at County Hall in Morpeth as a Catering Assistant.

Duties include food preparation and basic cooking, serving customers, replenishing fridges and displays, use of a traditional barista style coffee machine, cleaning duties as required, sorting deliveries, washing pots and dishes and cash handling using an electronic till system.

A working knowledge of a catering environment, including HACCP, food safety and health and safety principles is preferred.

We have an opening for 20 hours per week. Working times are between 8am and 4pm.
