Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking a part-time Community Hub Support Assistant (Catering) for our Learning Cafe in Newbiggin. You will help serve food and drinks, assist with basic food preparation and bar tasks, and support hub users with bookings.

You will work in a friendly, community-focused environment with duties including cash handling, light cleaning, and delivering a great customer experience during late-afternoon hours.

Qualifications

• Good numeracy and literacy skills with a general education.
• Health and safety awareness is desirable for a community hub environment.
• Basic food hygiene knowledge or certification is desirable but not essential.
• Bar and hospitality experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and drinks in the cafe and bar.
• Assist with basic food preparation and making coffees on the barista machine.
• Assist with bookings and maintain a friendly environment for hub users.
• Carry out light cleaning and safety tasks to keep the hub in great shape.
• Cash handling.
• Provide a great customer experience.
