Job summary

East Sussex College Group is seeking an experienced carpentry professional to teach across full-time study programmes and provide work-based assessment. Based at the Ore Valley Campus, the role involves delivering practical and theory-based sessions and supporting learners to progress into employment or further study.

The post is part-time (18.5 hours per week) with a salary circa £31,000–£43,000 FTE; actual pro rata figures are provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years industry experience in carpentry or construction.
• Strong practical and technical knowledge of carpentry.
• Passion for developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
• Experience in teaching, training or assessing is desirable.
• Willingness to pursue teacher development and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Carpentry teaching across full-time study programmes.
• Plan and deliver practical and theory-based lessons.
• Support learners to achieve qualifications and progress to employment or further study.
• Monitor learner progress and implement strategies to support outcomes.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
