Job summary

South Gloucestershire & Stroud College is seeking a Carpentry lecturer to deliver our Level 2 site carpentry course at Stroud Campus. The role is part-time, two evenings a week, on a fixed-term contract to 31 August 2027.

You will plan and deliver high-quality teaching, monitor learner progress, and stay up-to-date with construction industry developments, while upholding SGS’s safeguarding and health & safety standards.

Qualifications

• Industry experience in site carpentry.
• Teaching or assessor qualification or willingness to obtain one.
• Excellent communication skills and learner-focused attitude.
• Passion for the future of the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality teaching in site carpentry skills.
• Monitor learner progress, support achievement, and encourage progression into further training or employment.
• Keep up to date with developments in the construction industry.
• Ensure adherence to SGS’s Quality Management systems, safeguarding responsibilities, and health and safety practices.
