Job summary

Carers' Resource in Bradford is seeking a Locality Worker to support unpaid carers across the Shipley locality. The role is 22.5 hours per week, based at the Shipley office, with a salary of £27,000–£28,250 per year.

You will listen, advise, advocate, and carry out wellbeing reviews and needs assessments, coordinating with local services while upholding safeguarding, confidentiality and a person-centred approach.

Qualifications

• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with safeguarding procedures.
• Experience coordinating with partner organisations or services.

Responsibilities

• Reach out to referred clients and carers within agreed time frames, offering sensitive and empathetic support via phone and in-person interactions.
• Assess and identify individual client and carers’ needs, providing informal emotional assistance and practical advice.
• Conduct wellbeing reviews/needs assessments and develop tailored action plans, including emergency planning and advocacy.
• Provide practical support at home, manage volunteers, liaise with healthcare professionals and families, and identify carers for additional support services.
• Understanding of confidentiality, sensitivity, and a non-judgmental attitude.
