Job summary

Aurem Care Shared Services Limited is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our kitchen team and help provide nutritious, delicious meals for residents.

You’ll work closely with the Head Chef, ensuring meals meet dietary requirements and high standards of food safety and service. The role offers part-time hours (30/week) with early shifts, a supportive team, and opportunities for on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in care, healthcare, hospitality or catering.
• Knowledge of nutritional requirements and special diets.
• Stock control, ordering and food management procedures.
• Strong food safety and hygiene practices.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Supervise and support kitchen assistants and trainees, identifying training needs.
• Prepare and cook nutritious meals to a high standard.
• Prepare special dietary meals per care plans and nutritional requirements.
• Ensure excellent service delivery at all meal times.
• Complete and maintain HACCP documentation accurately.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
• Monitor food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Assist with menu planning and development.
• Report equipment faults or maintenance issues promptly.
• Manage stock rotation and assist with ordering and stock control.
• Undertake responsibilities of the Head Chef in their absence.
• Carry out any duties to support smooth running of the home.
