Aurem Care Shared Services Limited in Lostock Hall is seeking a dedicated Cook to deliver nutritious, well-balanced meals, support the Head Chef, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and service while engaging with residents.

Qualifications

• Have previous cooking experience in care, healthcare, hospitality or catering.
• Knowledge of nutritional requirements and special diets.
• Be confident with stock control, ordering and food management.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Able to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Supervise kitchen assistants and trainees, identifying training needs.
• Prepare and cook nutritious meals to a high standard.
• Prepare special dietary meals per residents' care plans.
• Ensure excellent service delivery at all meal times.
• Complete HACCP documentation accurately.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety.
• Monitor food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Assist with menu planning and development.
• Report equipment faults or maintenance issues promptly.
• Manage stock rotation and assist with ordering and stock control.
• Undertake Head Chef responsibilities in their absence.
• Carry out any reasonable duties to support the home.
