Job summary

Aurem Care have a part-time maintenance role in Greater London to keep the home clean, safe and comfortable for residents. The role covers basic repairs, electrical checks, fire safety tasks and general upkeep under the Home Manager's direction.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on maintenance experience, a valid driving licence, and familiarity with Health & Safety rules. The position requires IT literacy and reliable teamwork, with some weekend work possible.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience in electrical, plumbing or joinery.
• Knowledge of current Health and Safety regulations.
• Experience in a care environment is advantageous.
• Must have a driving licence and own transport.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and PC/laptop use.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to receive training on Health & Safety/Fire issues.
• Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain premises and grounds to a high standard for resident comfort and safety.
• Carry out repairs or contact engineers/service agents as needed.
• Perform basic visual electrical checks and report faults.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly fire checks and log findings.
• Conduct pre-weekend checks on lights, electricals and heating.
• Take monthly meter readings and report to Administrator/Manager.
• Undertake general redecoration and grounds maintenance.
• Protect resident privacy and coordinate with nursing staff when needed.
• Assist in collecting KPI data as directed and perform ad hoc duties.
