Job summary

Somerset Solders Ltd, including Somerset Workwear, seeks an experienced Accounts Administrator to join our small team. This permanent part-time role (16 hours/week) offers flexible hours and potential hybrid working.

You will manage day-to-day accounting tasks, maintain ledgers, and handle VAT returns while supporting month-end processes. We value accuracy, reliability, and a proactive approach in a friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Two years’ bookkeeping experience or similar accounting role.
• Comfortable working independently across day-to-day tasks.
• Experience with Xero is essential.
• ERP system experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sales and purchase ledgers.
• Credit control and customer statements.
• Bank and nominal ledger reconciliations.
• Resolve supplier and customer invoice queries.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure correct VAT treatment.
• Liaise with colleagues, customers and suppliers on accounts matters.
• Support month-end accounting processes/reporting to management.
