Job summary

Astute Recruitment is seeking an experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper for a 20–25 hour per week, fully onsite role in Nottingham. You will manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including reconciliations, invoicing, VAT, and reporting, with opportunities to improve processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on bookkeeping experience.
• Strong practical bookkeeping expertise with Sage Cloud and Xero.
• Excellent Excel skills and IT proficiency.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using Sage Cloud and Xero.
• Maintain nominal ledger coding and process journal entries.
• Conduct bank, card and control account reconciliations.
• Process invoices, allocate receipts and record payments.
• Check invoices for pricing discrepancies and charges.
• Support VAT returns and domestic reverse-charge requirements.
• Monitor aged debt and chase overdue payments.
• Prepare financial information and management reports.
• Support payroll administration and year-end preparation.
