Role Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage and maintain accurate financial records for our organisation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for recording daily financial transactions, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Process invoices, receipts, and payments accurately and on time
  • Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate and timely manner
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with financial statement preparation
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts
  • Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements
  • Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation
  • Monitor cash flow and budget variances
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage)
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially

Preferred Skills (optional):

  • Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards
  • Experience with payroll software and HR systems
  • Knowledge of tax procedures and returns (a plus)

Education & Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
  • 2+ years of relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience
