Job summary

Protocol Education are seeking a Part-Time Autism Support Assistant at a SEN school in Peterlee to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition. The role focuses on tailored support, communication and social interaction development, and helping pupils engage in lessons.

Successful candidates will have experience with Autism or additional needs, be patient and team oriented, and hold or be prepared to apply for an Enhanced DBS. Weekly PAYE pay and specialist SEND training are offered.

A welcoming SEN school in Peterlee is seeking a Part-Time Autism Support Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing tailored support to pupils with Autism.


• Supporting communication and social interaction skills.


• Encouraging independence and engagement in lessons.


• Following structured routines and support plans.


• Creating a calm and positive learning environment.


• Working alongside teachers and SEN professionals.

We are looking for candidates who:

• Have experience supporting Autism or additional needs.
