Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a specialist primary SEN school in Peterlee. You will support pupils with diverse needs, deliver interventions, and assist with literacy, numeracy and communication activities.

The role focuses on building confidence, independence and positive behaviour, with opportunities for long-term placement. A DBS check is required or in process; the position is paid weekly via PAYE and offers ongoing support from a dedicated education

• Experience in education, care, or support work.
• Passion for supporting SEN pupils.
• Reliable, patient and proactive.

• Enhanced DBS or willing to obtain one.

A specialist primary SEN school in Peterlee is looking for a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
• Delivering targeted interventions and classroom support.
• Assisting with literacy, numeracy, and communication activities.
• Helping children develop confidence and independence.
• Promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing.
• Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom.

We are looking for candidates who:

• Have experience in education, care, or support work.

• Hold an Enhanced DBS or are willing to obtain one.
