Job summary

Avon Valley Academy in Salisbury is seeking a confident Attendance Officer to monitor and manage student attendance as part of the Pastoral team. The role involves accurate record-keeping, reporting, and communication with pupils, parents, staff and external agencies, with a focus on safeguarding and welfare.

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, GCSE English and Maths, good ICT knowledge (MS Office) and a willingness to learn the MIS.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with pupils, parents and staff.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Willing to learn to use the school MIS and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Record and monitor student attendance.
• Use MIS to track daily attendance and generate reports.
• Communicate with students, parents, staff and external agencies on absences.
• Conduct attendance monitoring meetings and coordinate admissions.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
