Job summary

Gordano School in Portishead, near Bristol, seeks an Assistant SENDCO to join our inclusive learning community. The role offers 20 hours per week with the potential to increase to 30, term-time hours plus 5 INSET days.

You will work with the SENDCO, Deputy SENDCO and classroom staff to support students with additional needs and ensure high-quality inclusion across the school. We value collaborative safeguarding practice, clear communication and a proactive can-do attitude.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Good ICT skills and proficient with school systems.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and prioritise tasks.
• Excellent attention to detail in a busy school setting.
• Respect for confidentiality and safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities

• Support the SENDCO to plan and monitor interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and students.
• Maintain accurate records in the school's systems.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and updated.
