Job summary

Fakenham Academy is seeking a part-time Technology & Art Technician to support the Technology & Art Department, providing technical support, preparing materials, maintaining equipment and ensuring health and safety compliance. You will support teaching staff and students during lessons and contribute to a safe learning environment.

The role is fixed-term from September 2026 until 31 August 2027, 18 hours per week (Term Time Plus 2 weeks), starting as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• English/Literacy and Maths/Numeracy level 2 or equivalent required.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Experience of using ICT and other technology.
• Able to prepare materials and equipment for practical work.
• Able to ensure teaching rooms and equipment support learning and safety.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble equipment for demonstrations and practical classes.
• Maintain and clean equipment to high standards.
• Ensure equipment/resources are fully functional and safe.
• Assist with stock checking and storage management.
• Provide porterage and handyman tasks as needed within the Academy.
• Support teachers and students during lessons and events.
