Job summary

Tewkesbury Academy is seeking a Design & Technology Technician on a permanent basis. The role supports the delivery of practical D&T lessons by preparing resources, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe, well-organised learning environment for students and staff.

You will work with the Curriculum Lead and teachers to prepare and maintain equipment across disciplines, manage stock, and ensure tools and machines are ready for use while promoting health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
• Education to A Level standard in Design & Technology, or relevant practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organise and maintain equipment, materials and resources for practical activities across the department.
• Support areas such as resistant materials, graphics, textiles and food preparation.
• Manage stock, set up and clear away resources, ensure specialist equipment is available and ready for use.
• Promote health and safety; assist with risk assessments and safe use of tools and machinery.
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, suppliers and contractors; provide practical technical support.
