Job summary

Newcastle City Council is recruiting a Cleaner to join the Facility Services team at Westerhope Primary School. The role is site-specific with duties including cleaning corridors, classrooms, offices and toilets, using required equipment, and completing tasks to fixed deadlines.

Average hours are 10 per week, 3:15pm to 5:15pm, Monday to Friday, with a pay rate of £13.45 per hour. Full training is provided, DBS checks will be required, and employees benefit from the Local Government Pension

Qualifications

• No experience is necessary as full training will be provided.
• This is a site-specific advert for school cleaning roles.
• Candidates will have a basic understanding of written and spoken English due to the use of chemicals.
• This post is in regulated activity and requires a DBS check; criminal convictions may affect eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Clean designated areas such as corridors, classrooms, offices and toilet areas using required equipment.
• Empty bins, mop and vacuum floors while meeting fixed deadlines.
• Regular stooping, bending and lifting is required.
