Job summary

Newcastle City Council is seeking reliable individuals to join the Facility Services team as a Cleaner at Benfield School, Newcastle upon Tyne. No prior experience needed; full training provided. The role involves cleaning classrooms, corridors and offices, with physical tasks and adherence to safety guidelines.

A DBS check is required before starting. The position is site-specific with shift patterns from Monday to Thursday 3:00pm–5:30pm and Friday 3:00pm–6:00pm, at £13.45 per hour.

Qualifications

• No previous cleaning experience required; full training will be provided.
• Basic understanding of written and spoken English due to chemical use.
• Good attitude and positive approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Clean designated areas such as corridors, classrooms, offices and toilet areas using required equipment.
• Empty bins, mop and vacuum floors.
• Work to fixed deadlines; regular stooping, bending and lifting required.
• DBS check will be completed if successful.
