Job summary

AWD online is seeking an energetic Activities Coordinator / Community Engagement Worker in Birkenhead to help residents participate in meaningful activities and build confidence through community links.

You will plan, promote and deliver sessions, events, workshops and learning, working with residents, colleagues and partner agencies to encourage participation and co-design services while supporting safeguarding and centre operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with people who have experienced homelessness or other vulnerable groups.
• Proactive, energetic approach with evidence of leading activities, projects or events.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with residents, volunteers and partners.
• Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, professional boundaries, equality and health and safety.
• Organised planning, record-keeping, reporting and prioritising tasks.
• Ability to work positively as part of a team and involve residents in shaping activities and services.

Responsibilities

• Plan, promote, and deliver activities, events, sessions, workshops and learning opportunities for residents.
• Encourage resident participation and co-design of activities and services.
• Build positive relationships with partner agencies, accommodation providers and support services, coordinate joint activities and deliver community information sessions.
• Help ensure the safety and security of residents, volunteers, staff, partner agencies and the building while following safeguarding, health and safety, risk assessment, equality, diversity and customer care procedures.
• Manage room bookings, supplies, and premises standards including cleaning and equipment.
• Maintain records and monitoring systems, evaluate activities, collate information and contribute to reports, planning and service development.
• Complete service administration, prioritise workload, attend meetings and training, share information and support colleagues.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries, respond to complaints in line with procedures and promote respectful, anti-discriminatory practice.
