Job summary

Howett Thorpe in Godalming is seeking a part-time Accounts Assistant on a 10-month fixed term contract. The role is around 3 days a week and office-based, with a strong benefits package and a supportive working culture.

You will join a finance team of four and assist with the daily finance function while supporting other departments. Prior accounting exposure and Sage experience are desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar position.
• Strong accounting exposure.
• Able to start at short notice.
• Experience with Sage would be preferable.

Responsibilities

• Coding and sorting purchase invoices and posting bank payments.
• Liaising with suppliers regarding payment dates.
• Updating fixed asset registers and depreciation journals quarterly.
• Prepare rental calculations and pay rental invoices.
• Raise purchase orders for all companies.
• Support monthly management accounts preparation.
• Complete quarterly VAT returns using Sage MTD where needed.
• Maintain and update records of offsite filing.
• Build relationships with new and existing suppliers.
