Job summary

Confidential in Godalming, a growing SME, is seeking a part-time Accounts Assistant on a 10-month fixed term contract. The role is three days a week, office based, with a supportive finance team and a culture that values accuracy and initiative.

You will assist with daily bookkeeping, supplier payments, VAT returns, and monthly management accounts, using Sage, with duties including invoices, depreciation, and PO creation. A strong accounting background and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting exposure
• Good attention to detail
• Able to start at short notice
• Experience with Sage would be preferable

Responsibilities

• Code and sort purchase invoices and liaise with suppliers regarding payment dates
• Update fixed asset registers and post depreciation journals quarterly
• Prepare rental calculations and pay rental invoices
• Raise purchase orders for all companies
• Assist with monthly management accounts preparation
• Complete quarterly VAT returns using Sage MTD
• Maintain offsite filing records
• Build relationships with suppliers
