Job summary

Lloyd Barnes Recruitment is seeking an experienced Accountant for a part-time, six-month fixed-term role in Dartmouth, Devon. The position entails around 30 hours per month with flexible scheduling, ideally two days every fortnight or a condensed monthly week.

The role covers day-to-day accounting, monthly management reporting and VAT returns, with responsibilities including invoicing, journals, accruals and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
• Strong knowledge of invoicing, journals and accruals
• Experience preparing management reports and VAT returns
• Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Able to work independently and manage deadlines

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day invoicing and financial transactions
• Prepare and post accruals and journals
• Produce monthly management reports
• Complete quarterly VAT returns
• Maintain accurate financial records
• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Support month-end processes and reporting
• Ensure financial information is accurate and up to date
