Job summary

Morson Group is seeking a Temporary Accounts Manager in Bristol on a part-time basis (22–25 hours per week). The role focuses on day-to-day accounting using Xero, invoicing, VAT returns and financial reporting for management review.

The ideal candidate will be organised, thorough and reliable, with experience in small business accounts and the ability to work independently to deadlines. Flexible hours are available to suit the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in hands-on accounts role.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting, reconciliations and financial record keeping.
• Ability to work in an organised, thorough and reliable manner.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities using Xero.
• Raise sales invoices and purchase orders.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for management review.
• Complete quarterly VAT returns.
• Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
• Review aged debtors and flag any potential issues.
• Check trial balances and investigate discrepancies.
• Check payroll figures and arrange payments.
• Respond to finance queries from clients and management.
