Part-time Accountant

Type: Part-time, flexible, 20 hours per week

Location: Sawston, Cambridge (office-based)

Salary: In the region of £35k pro rata, depending on experience

We're hiring a part-time Accountant at our Sawston office, offering flexible hours to accommodate your commitments, such as school drop-offs.

At PAXT, we develop international markets for leading professional audio brands. We seek a friendly and highly organized Accountant to support our finance function as our business grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing financial reports and statements
• Support month-end closing processes
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting cycles
• Support year-end audits
• Allocate customer payments and monitor accounts
• Prepare monthly VAT returns
• Reconcile bank and financial records for accuracy
• Assist with monthly payroll
• Prepare supplier payment runs
• Process and analyze company credit card statements
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Monitor cash flow
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes

Experience, Attributes, and Skills

• Ability to complete accounts to trial balance
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with attention to detail
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) - full or part-qualified
• Accuracy in maintaining financial records
• Organizational skills for efficient record-keeping
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accountancy software (familiarity with Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus; training can be provided)
• Effective communication skills
• Analytical skills to interpret financial data
• Problem-solving skills for resolving discrepancies
