Austin Rose is seeking an ABAS Assistant Manager (Part Time) in Colchester to join a people-focused firm that supports career growth and development. The role emphasizes building client relationships, managing accounting workflows, and delivering insights beyond numbers.

Qualifications

• Be fully ACCA or ACA qualified.
• Experience with single entity and group year-end financial statements and audit.
• Strong IT skills: Word, Outlook, Excel (intermediate).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organised and methodical with focus on clients and deadlines.
• Knowledge of cloud-based accounting systems (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks).
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Review draft financial statements and ensure consistency with standards and client records.
• Prepare and review consolidations and group accounts.
• Review draft audited statements and liaise with audit department.
• Assist in advisory work and high-quality client service.
• Review corporation tax computations for accuracy and compliance.
• Manage statutory filing deadlines and Companies House submissions.
• Liaise with clients and Directors to resolve queries and gather information.
• Supervise and review work of junior team members and ensure readiness for final review by Directors/Partners.
• Track job budgets and monitor performance against targets.
• Oversee debt balances and cash collections with credit control.
