Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking Part Time 1:1 Tutors to support children in care and those with SEN in Thurrock and surrounding areas. Tutoring covers Maths, English and Science across key stages, with sessions possible at home, in care homes, or local libraries.

The role requires flexibility, experience in education, and a positive, engaging approach to learning. Contract is temporary, part-time (3 hours per day, Monday to Friday), with a start ASAP.

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS preferred but not essential with relevant experience.
• Minimum degree level in tuition subject.
• Experience with SEMH or LAC advantageous.
• Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student.
• Positive attitude and desire.
• Ability to engage and motivate students whilst making learning fun.

Responsibilities

• Support children in care or with SEN across Maths, English and Science.
• Deliver 1:1 tuition during school hours, after school, or weekends.
• Tuition may occur at home, care home or other settings like local libraries.
• Be flexible and adaptable to students’ needs.
