Job summary

Prospero Teaching are looking for 1:1 tutors to support children in care and pupils with SEN in Thurrock and surrounding areas. Part‑time tuition can run during the school day, after school, or at weekends.

Minimum rate £25 per hour; position is temporary, 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Start date ASAP; location will be at home, a care home or another suitable setting such as a library.

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS is preferred but not essential providing you have relevant experience.
• Minimum of degree level in tuition subject.
• Experience working with SEMH or LAC advantageous.
• Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student.
• Positive attitude and desire.
• Ability to engage and motivate students while making learning fun.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tuition mainly in Maths, English and Science across key stages.
• Tuition may take place at home, care home or in a local library or other setting.
• Support pupils who are in care or have SEN and may require flexible scheduling.
