Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Accounting Operations team at Marsh and McLennan. This role will be based in Witham. It is a hybrid position requiring at least three days a week in the office.

As an Accounting Operations Accountant, you will be a proactive, results-oriented individual capable of managing multiple deliverables while maintaining high standards of governance within a strict control environment. Experience in a busy shared services organization is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

1. General management accounting, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
2. Stakeholder management, including liaising with controllers and offshore teams.
3. Supporting internal/external audits and SOX compliance.
4. Quarterly reporting on IO variances.
5. Intercompany activities such as reconciliations, variance investigations, settlements, and transfer pricing.
6. Supporting VAT reporting.

Requirements:

• Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, actively studying or qualified by experience.
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
• Team player with strong partnership skills across onshore and offshore teams.
• High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure.
• Proven ability to identify and suggest process improvements.
