Job summary

Anderson Knight is partnering with a client to recruit a Part Qualified Assistant Accountant in Glasgow. The role offers exposure to a wide range of accounting activities while progressing toward full qualification.

You will support monthly management accounts, assist with month-end and year-end processes, and work closely with the wider finance team to develop technical knowledge in a forward-thinking business.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate is part-qualified ACCA or CIMA.
• Experience in a finance or accounting environment is important.
• Strong attention to detail and comfortable with numbers.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Assist with month-end and year-end processes.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable activities as required.
• Support cash flow reporting and general financial analysis.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensure records are accurate and maintained to procedures.
• Collaborate with the finance team on queries and ad hoc projects.

Anderson Knight is delighted to partner with its client to hire a Part Qualified Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has already built a solid foundation in accounting and is looking to develop their experience further within a supportive and forward-thinking business.

Working closely with the wider finance team, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the accounts function. You will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting activities while continuing to develop your technical knowledge and progress towards full qualification.

The Role

• Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end processes.
• Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities where required.
• Supporting cash flow reporting and general financial analysis.
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensuring financial records are accurate, complete and maintained in line with company procedures.
• Working with colleagues across the business to resolve finance-related queries.
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc analysis and projects.

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially aware, organised and keen to continue developing their accounting career. You will ideally be part-qualified or actively working towards a recognised accounting qualification such as ACCA OR CIMA.

You will have good attention to detail and be comfortable working with numbers, while also being able to communicate confidently with colleagues at different levels. Experience within a finance or accounting environment is important, but just as importantly, we are looking for someone with a positive attitude who is willing to learn and take on new responsibilities.

Strong Excel skills and good general IT knowledge would be advantageous.
