Job summary

Goodman Masson in London is recruiting a Part-Qualified Accountant to join its finance team. This broad role offers exposure to key accounting processes within a small, collaborative function and an opportunity to take ownership of month-end, reporting, treasury and systems work.

You'll work closely with the Finance Manager, supporting AP/P2P, balance sheet reconciliations, journals and financial reporting, while studying ACCA, CIMA or AAT to build your career in accounting.

Qualifications

• Actively studying ACCA, CIMA or AAT.
• Experience in finance or accounting environment.
• Knowledge of double-entry accounting and AP/P2P.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day purchase-to-pay and accounts payable processes.
• Code, approve and process invoices with internal stakeholders.
• Review payment runs and maintain controls.
• Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support preparation of management accounts and financial reporting.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.
• Support audit preparation and provide financial information.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and improve processes.
• Assist with finance systems implementations and automation.

About the Role

We are working with a growing international business that is looking to appoint a Part-Qualified Accountant to join its London finance team.

This is a broad role within a small and collaborative finance function, offering the opportunity to take ownership of key accounting processes while gaining exposure across month-end, reporting, treasury and finance systems.

You'll work closely with the Finance Manager and wider business, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to build on their existing accounting experience and take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day purchase-to-pay and accounts payable process.
• Work with internal stakeholders to ensure invoices are correctly coded, approved and processed.
• Review payment runs and maintain appropriate financial controls.
• Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances or outstanding items.
• Support the preparation of management accounts and regular financial reporting.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.
• Support audit preparation and provide financial information as required.
• Maintain accurate accounting records across the business.
• Assist with the implementation and improvement of finance systems and processes.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate existing processes.
• Provide wider support to the Finance Manager across day-to-day finance activities and projects.

About You

We're looking for someone who is actively studying towards ACCA, CIMA or AAT, with some solid experience in a finance or accounting environment.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Experience across core accounting processes
• Good knowledge of double-entry accounting
• Previous exposure to AP / purchase-to-pay
• A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a small team
