Michael Page Finance is recruiting a Part Qualified Accountant for a permanent, on-site role in Woking. The successful candidate will handle monthly accruals, prepayments and fixed assets, ensuring IFRS compliance and timely month-end close.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified accounting certification e.g., ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, or qualified by experience.
• Experience in general ledger accounting.

• Good understanding of financial regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly accruals, prepayments and deferred income with high accuracy.
• Ensure all general ledger postings are complete and posted by month-end deadlines.
• Prepare lease accounting journals in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage intercompany accounting, including reconciliations and eliminations.
• Maintain fixed asset accounting including depreciation and reconciliation.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
• Collaborate with the commercial finance team to analyse performance and explain variances.
• Support internal and external audits with schedules and reconciliations.

Description

Prepare and review monthly accruals, prepayments and deferred income with a high degree of accuracy across the chart of accounts and dimensions to support statutory and management reporting

Ensure all general ledger postings are complete, and submitted in line with month-end reporting deadlines.

Prepare lease accounting journals in accordance with IFRS requirements.

Manage intercompany accounting, including reconciliations and elimination postings, ensuring balances are fully aligned at group level.

Maintain fixed asset accounting, including capitalisation, depreciation and reconciliation between subledger and general ledger.

Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, promptly investigating and resolving reconciling items.

Partner with the commercial finance team to analyse financial performance and provide meaningful commentary on month-on-month, year-on-year and budget/forecast variances.

Ensure all accounting activities comply with IFRS and Group accounting policies.

Maintain robust documentation and supporting evidence for balance sheet accounts.

Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, reconciliations and responses to auditor requests.

Profile

A successful General Ledger Accountant should have:

• A part-qualified accountancy certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Or Qualified by experience.
• Experience in general ledger accounting.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• A good understanding of financial regulations and compliance.

Job Offer
