Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an experienced Part Qualified Accountant in Woking to join a leading business. You will manage monthly accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely accurate reporting.

You will work under IFRS guidelines, handle intercompany activity, fixed asset accounting, and support audits. The role offers a stable, permanent position with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or qualified by experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly accruals, prepayments and deferred income with accuracy across COA and dimensions to support statutory and management reporting.
• Ensure all general ledger postings are complete and submitted by month-end deadlines.
• Prepare lease accounting journals in accordance with IFRS requirements.
• Manage intercompany accounting, including reconciliations and eliminations at group level.
• Maintain fixed asset accounting, including capitalisation, depreciation and reconciliation.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
• Partner with commercial finance to analyse performance and provide commentary on variances.
• Ensure all accounting activities comply with IFRS and Group policies.
• Maintain robust documentation and supporting evidence for balance sheet accounts.
• Support audits with schedules, reconciliations and auditor requests.

Description

Prepare and review monthly accruals, prepayments and deferred income with a high degree of accuracy across the chart of accounts and dimensions to support statutory and management reporting

Ensure all general ledger postings are complete, and submitted in line with month-end reporting deadlines.

Prepare lease accounting journals in accordance with IFRS requirements.

Manage intercompany accounting, including reconciliations and elimination postings, ensuring balances are fully aligned at group level.

Maintain fixed asset accounting, including capitalisation, depreciation and reconciliation between subledger and general ledger.

Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, promptly investigating and resolving reconciling items.

Partner with the commercial finance team to analyse financial performance and provide meaningful commentary on month-on-month, year-on-year and budget/forecast variances.

Ensure all accounting activities comply with IFRS and Group accounting policies.

Maintain robust documentation and supporting evidence for balance sheet accounts.

Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, reconciliations and responses to auditor requests.

Profile

A successful General Ledger Accountant should have:

• A part-qualified accountancy certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Or Qualified by experience.
• Experience in general ledger accounting.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• A good understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
