10 Design, part of Egis Group, is an international architecture and master planning practice with offices in Hong Kong, Edinburgh, Dubai, Miami, London, Shenzhen, Singapore, and San Francisco. 10 Design works at diverse scales, from the design of individual buildings to the planning of cities. The practice focuses on bringing innovative design solutions for multicultural projects, with economic and social integrity. Its works include large-scale mixed use development, retail, office, residential, hospitality, transport, education, cultural, and civic projects.

The Architectural Assistant is required to provide assistance with the development of architectural projects through production, coordination, design input and research. The role also requires the ability to bring fresh ideas and apply knowledge and skills acquired at university in a practical working environment that will in turn facilitate the organisation in achieving its desired growth plan.

Job Description
  • To become an integral member of a project team and provide as much support as possible in meeting deadlines, production work and project design.
  • To enhance personal knowledge of architectural design and gain hands-on experience in the various stages of a project's development.
  • To undertake and record activities required to progress towards professional qualification, i.e. PEDR quarterly logbooks.
Key Responsibilities
  • Produce drawings in accordance with company guidelines and within project deadlines.
  • Assist with appropriate research.
  • Assist in the compilation of project reports and the production of models in line with project needs.
  • Offer support to the project leader with general production, problem solving and design input.
  • Carry out such other duties which are consistent with the nature and responsibilities of the role.
  • Continual development of architectural understanding and awareness.
  • Become involved in architectural studies, investigations, coordination meetings and design workshops.
  • Familiarize with contracts, programme and project management.
  • Gain an understanding of the expectations of the profession as well as exposure to the overall industry.
  • Proactive team member.
  • Become an effective and efficient team member.
  • Possess a flexible working attitude and work well within the team environment.
  • Proactively demonstrate knowledge and skills acquired at university.
  • Continue to add to your professional portfolio, ensuring to document the most impressive aspects of your contributions.
Qualifications
Education and Training
  • Undergraduate qualifications in Architecture - Honours optional.
  • Excellent design skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop and 3D Max.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese are highly desirable.
Experience
  • Previous working experience is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in an office environment working as part of a team is preferred.
Personal Qualities
  • An enthusiasm for design and the built environment.
  • An ambitious personality, capable of achieving.
  • Management of your own time input vs. your productivity.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Able to work as part of a team and to motivate others.

This role is based out of our London office, with occasional travel needed to other offices.
