FiLiA is a feminist women's rights charity, which aims to build sisterhood and solidarity (locally, nationally and internationally), to amplify the voices of women (particularly those less often heard or purposefully silenced) and to defend women's human rights.
We organise and host the FiLiA conference and support human rights campaigns in the UK and globally. Our work with women and our follow-up research has highlighted the fact that women’s differing needs and lives are not being recognised in policies and processes, and that we continue to live in a male-dominated and male-served society.
FiLiA is now working to provide women with the support required to ensure their voices are heard in national and local policy forums, so that policy makers understand the real world impacts of their policies and how they can improve the lives of women.
We are now looking for a Parliamentary and Public Affairs Officer, to support the interim Head of Policy and Head of Public Affairs until the end of 2025 (with the possibility of extension through 2026 and beyond, dependent on funding).
We are looking for bids from consultants who can fulfil the role, supporting FiLiA to build its authority, credibility and visibility within the policy and campaigning sphere, while maintaining its feminist ethics, values and approach. The role will be on a self-employed consultancy basis. Hours can be flexible but we envisage about 20 hrs per week at £25ph until end 2025.
