Job summary

Maldon District Council is recruiting a Parks & Countryside Officer to join the Countryside & Coast Team. The role involves maintaining grounds and open spaces, operating groundcare machinery, and supported by Essex Shared Services.

The position offers a permanent, full-time contract with a salary from £29,452.79 to £32,085.65 per annum, plus a range of benefits. A full UK driving licence and relevant certificates are essential.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will be experienced in grounds maintenance and outdoor work.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own transport for travelling to work is essential.
• Two or more competency certificates in licenced grounds equipment and plant operation (training can be provided).

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds across Maldon District's parks and open spaces.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and procedures.
• Undertake weekend and bank holiday duties as rostered; provide out-of-hours cover for events and emergencies.
• Operate groundcare machinery (grass cutting, hedge trimming, litter collection) and basic vehicle operation.
