Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited in Maldon, Essex, is seeking a Parks & Countryside Officer for a 3-month contract with a Local Authority. You will support maintenance of parks, open spaces and countryside areas, ensuring spaces are safe, clean and well-presented for residents and visitors.

The role requires experience in street cleansing or environmental services, grass cutting, operation of ride-on mowers, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in Street Cleansing or Environmental Services.
• Grass cutting and horticultural maintenance.
• Operating ride-on mowers or similar machinery.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Comfortable working independently.
• Full UK Driving Licence (up to 3.5 tonnes).
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Empty litter bins and waste receptacles.
• Carry out litter picking across parks and open spaces.
• Sweep pathways and public access areas.
• Undertake grass cutting and grounds maintenance activities.
• Perform hand-weeding of shrub beds and planted areas.
• Trim hedges and maintain landscaped areas.
• Operate grounds maintenance equipment and machinery.
• Support the upkeep of parks and recreational facilities.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Work independently and as part of a team to maintain high environmental standards.

Additional Information to Note

• Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 17:00- Friday: 07:00 - 15:30.
