Job summary

Essential Employment is representing a local council in the United Kingdom to recruit a Parks and Green Spaces Coordinator. The role focuses on organizing and coordinating improvements across parks, playgrounds, open spaces and allotments, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.

You will liaise with the in-house grounds maintenance team, councillors, external agencies, residents and contractors to deliver strategic objectives from an operational perspective.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper Health and Safety standards and prepare/review risk assessments and risk/benefit analyses.
• Organise and coordinate improvement projects in parks, playgrounds, open spaces, and allotments, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Liaise with in-house grounds maintenance team to discuss standards and provide guidance for best practice.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (Community Services, Councillors, external agencies, residents, contractors) to deliver strategic goals.
• Support ground maintenance teams, Green Space and Tree teams, and volunteers in on-site conservation work, planting, and habitat creation.
• Supervise contractors and volunteers across schemes to improve the Borough’s green spaces.
• Assist in the development of management plans for various parks and greenspaces.
• Assist in the management of events when required.
