Job summary

Essex County Council is recruiting a Park Operations Assistant for Weald Country Park in Brentwood. The role is part-time with annualised hours, including weekends. You will support Rangers, manage access, maintain facilities, and help create a safe, welcoming park for visitors.

The position requires mobility across the site, plus a driving licence or access to a vehicle. Salary is pro-rata at £12,980 per year, with a full-time equivalent up to £25,959. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Educated to RQF Level 2 (GCSE or BTech), or equivalent by experience.
• Experience of working with the public or customers delivering good service.
• Evidence of good communication and ability to advise.

Responsibilities

• Open/close the park site at key times and ensure access for visitors.
• Help maintain clean, safe and welcoming park facilities and spaces.
• Support with health and safety checks and required paperwork.
• Assist with general operational activities as needed.
• Engage with visitors to improve their experience and resolve issues.
