Job summary

Guardian Jobs is seeking a Roaming Ranger for Essex County Council, based at Danbury Country Park. The role involves managing and maintaining green spaces across eight Essex Country Parks and related trails, delivering high standards of conservation, horticulture and visitor experiences.

You’ll undertake land management, customer service, and community engagement activities, with opportunities to support events and groups connecting people with Essex parks.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in countryside management or equivalent by experience.
• Industry relevant national governing body accredited qualifications (First Aid, Tractor Operations, Chain Saw, Brush Cutter, etc.).
• Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in countryside management.

Responsibilities

• Support relationships with neighbours, stakeholders and partners.
• Undertake projects to enhance country park activities and share expertise.
• Maintain safe, clean, and well-presented parks and facilities.
• Manage day-to-day site operations and ensure compliance with procedures.
