Job summary

Essex County Council is recruiting a Park Operations Assistant for Great Notley Country Park in Braintree. This part-time, rolling rota role averages 14.48 hours per week (769 hours/year) under an annualised contract, with regular weekend shifts and a salary of £13.46/hour.

Based at Great Notley Country Park, you will help open/close park access, maintain facilities, and support grounds and infrastructure. Prior maintenance and strong customer service skills are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering excellent customer service to the public.
• Good communication skills with the ability to give information and advice.
• Experience working in a team and supporting colleagues to meet local objectives.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the daily operation by ensuring all park access points are open when publicised and secured when closed.
• Ensure facilities including toilets, buildings and storage areas are secure and available as needed.
• Assist with maintenance tasks such as painting, signage, weeding, and general grounds upkeep.
• Ensure facilities are cleaned and maintained, including litter picking and bin clearance.
