Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Plymouth to deliver letters and parcels on a 30-hour, rotating shift schedule across Monday to Sunday, including Sundays. You will work from the Plymouth Delivery Office and receive full training, a uniform, and a red Royal Mail van.

The role is physically demanding and outdoors, with a focus on customer service and community connectivity. Applicants must have a full UK driving licence and be comfortable lifting mailbags up to 10 kg.

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30.00hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 14:00/20:00*

What to expect

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
