Job Description:
Paraplanner/Technical Analyst
The Role: To support the Partner and Financial Planners in informing and advising clients on financial strategies, plans, and products.
Key Requirements and Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of product research and analytical tools
- Good team working and liaison skills to effectively handle tasks and support team members
- Understanding of FCA regulations and guidelines related to financial services
- Willingness to develop knowledge of products and related issues through ongoing learning
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload efficiently
- Capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with relevant IT tools, including detailed use of Enable (CRM system)
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing for client meetings, including:
- Financial analysis compilation, requesting data from Technical Assistants as needed
- Analyzing client data and preparing cash flow analyses
- Researching products to support recommendations
- Compiling financial planning recommendations and suitability reports
- Supporting the Client Partner and Financial Planner
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Liaising with product providers and third parties
- Following through on client requirements to conclusion
- Managing and monitoring client annual reviews
- Preparing paperwork for client meetings with Technical Assistant support
- Assisting with annual technical reviews of services and products
- Preparing O&M reports for complex cases, coordinating with Technical Assistants for straightforward cases
- Checking pension contributions, including carry forward
- Drafting correspondence with clients, providers, and third parties professionally
- Representing the business at client and BDM meetings
- Staying updated on market conditions and competitors’ strengths and weaknesses
- Attending Investment Committee meetings and taking minutes
- Drafting Financial Plans and reviewing them with the Client Partner
- Drafting complex suitability letters for approval and instructing Support Assistants
- Serving as a point of contact for clients
- Promoting the business within the profession and wider community
