Job summary

Recruit UK in Wigan is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to support Financial Planners throughout the advice process in a hybrid role (3 days in the office, 2 days at home).

You will draft accurate suitability reports, provide detailed research on pensions, investments and retirement planning, and ensure recommendations are compliant and robust for clients.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Paraplanner within a financial planning environment.
  • Strong knowledge across pensions, investments, protection and retirement planning.
  • Experience writing suitability reports.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Good understanding of FCA/compliance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Draft accurate and compliant suitability reports based on adviser recommendations.
  • Liaise closely with Financial Planners to ensure information is complete and accurate.
  • Interpret client meeting notes and assist with preparing suitable recommendations.
  • Conduct detailed research into existing policies, investments and pensions.
  • Obtain illustrations, Key Features documents and supporting information.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Financial Planners.
  • Manage your own caseload and maintain client records to a high standard.
  • Collaborate with advisers, administrators and wider teams to deliver a great client experience.
  • Maintain strong technical and industry knowledge and best-practice processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve paraplanning processes and efficiency.
  • Provide coaching or training support to other Paraplanners when appropriate.
  • Ensure all work meets regulatory, compliance and departmental standards.

Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days home

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

We are working with an established and forward-thinking financial planning business that is committed to delivering exceptional outcomes for its clients.

As a Paraplanner, you will play a key role in supporting Financial Planners throughout the advice process. You will provide high-quality technical research, prepare suitability reports and offer detailed financial planning support, ensuring recommendations are both technically robust and compliant.

You will gain exposure to a broad range of financial planning areas, including pensions, investments, protection, retirement and estate planning.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We are looking for someone with strong technical paraplanning experience who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working as a Paraplanner within a financial planning environment.
  • Strong knowledge across pensions, investments, protection and retirement planning.
  • Experience writing suitability reports.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • A strong understanding of FCA/compliance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and caseload effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work closely with Financial Planners.
  • A proactive approach to improving processes and delivering better client outcomes.
