Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is hiring a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor in York. You will perform PIP functional assessments using structured clinical reasoning and produce detailed reports, while collaborating with clinical and admin teams in a hybrid setup.

Ideal applicants are NMC/HCPC registered professionals with UK clinical experience and strong report-writing skills. The role offers a starting salary of £42,000, rising to £46,000 after accreditation and minimum site presence.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist.
• Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions.
• Minimum 1 year's UK clinical experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident use of digital systems (35 WPM typing speed).
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).
• Experience in functional assessment or advisory roles.
• Confidence in producing high-quality written clinical reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face and telephone PIP assessments in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Analyse medical evidence and clinical information.
• Produce accurate, detailed and evidence-based written reports.
• Work to defined quality standards and clinical frameworks.
• Engage positively with feedback and development opportunities.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative colleagues.
• Attend the assessment centre as required.
