Job summary

Foot Anstey is seeking a Paralegal to join the Planning & Environmental team in Southampton. You will support high-profile development, regeneration, energy and infrastructure projects, gaining early exposure to complex legal matters and developing technical and commercial skills within a busy, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in planning law and the role of development in shaping places and communities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret complex information.
• Flexible and proactive approach, able to work in a busy, collaborative team.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Proven organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Strong IT skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Support lawyers on a broad range of planning matters, including Town and Country Planning Act issues, Development Consent Orders (DCOs), NSIPs and major development schemes.
• Draft legal documents, correspondence and planning-related submissions; provide admin and project-management support.
• Undertake legal research into planning legislation, policy, case law and regulatory developments.
• Assist with due diligence, document reviews, planning and infrastructure agreements, appeals and judicial reviews.
• Support client reporting, knowledge management and day-to-day matter management.
