Our General Insurance team is currently recruiting for a Paralegal with experience in Housing Disrepair and/or Personal Injury to join the team in Leeds or Newcastle upon Tyne.

The role will be based in our Leeds or Newcastle office, and we offer a hybrid working arrangement with 2 or 3 days in the office and 2 or 3 days from home.

About the role

The General Insurance team in Newcastle is instructed by our insurer clients to pursue housing disrepair claims, whether commercial or domestic premises.

• Ensuring, in conjunction with the partner and associates, that cases are progressed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
• Working with our valued and long-standing clients to understand requirements and manage cases in line with service level agreements and best practices.
• Prioritising work effectively and maximising efficiency in working practices.
• Building stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
• Developing your technical and commercial knowledge via training or working practices.

About you

Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Ideally 2 years of experience working in EL/PL Housing Disrepair and/or Personal Injury, with litigation experience.
• The ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients, in writing and in person.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work to strict deadlines.
• A demonstrated desire to develop their career with DWF.
