Job summary

Automation Experts in Glasgow is seeking a Panel Wirer / Electrical Fitter to join our workshop team. The role involves wiring control panels, reading electrical diagrams, and potentially travelling to other sites across the UK.

Location-based in Central Scotland, the position offers overtime, a pension, and travel allowances, with an early Friday finish. The role suits an experienced electrician, electrical fitter or mechanical fitter with electrical wiring skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in drilling, tapping, grinding and cutting with power tools.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for panel wiring.
• Familiar with test meters, crimping tools and workshop equipment for control panels.
• Knowledge of components used in control panel manufacture.

Responsibilities

• Wire and assemble control panels in a factory/workshop setting.
• Travel to other facilities or customer sites as required.
• Interpret schematics and wiring diagrams to fit panel layouts.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Panel Wirer/Electrical Fitter - The Role

Predominantly factory / workshop based however potential work and travel to other facilities/customer sites

Panel Wirer/Electrical Fitter - The Person

• Precious engineering experience in drilling, tapping, grinding & cutting using power hand tools
• Ability to read & fully understand electrical schematics & wiring diagrams, to then wire the control panels
• Working knowledge of equipment to include test meters, crimping tools & other workshop equipment often used in the manufacture of control panels
• Be familiar with components commonly used in control panel manufacture
• Hold a full UK driving license & valid passport
• Role would suit an Electrical Fitter / Electrical Engineer / Electrician / Mechanical Fitter skilled with electrical fitting and control panel wire/build.

Located in Central Scotland this role is commutable from within and around the following areas: East Kilbride, Glasgow, Hamilton and Motherwell.

Salary is negotiable with experience with all overtime paid, allowances for working away/offshore, pension scheme and 25 days holiday + bank holidays. A pool car is provided for any required UK travel.
