Job summary

Ford & Stanley Talentwise is seeking a skilled Panel Wirer to join a busy electrical manufacturing environment in Burton Upon Trent. The role focuses on wiring harnesses, testing, inspection, and repair of electrical assemblies to drawings and instructions.

The ideal candidate will have Level 3 in engineering and proven experience in automotive or rail harness production, with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and timely delivery in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Level 3 in engineering is required.
• Experience in busy electrical manufacturing or repair environment.
• Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a changing production environment.
• Rail or automotive industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture conduit and concentric layered electrical harnesses to current drawings and instructions
• Inspect, test, and repair electrical harnesses, control cabinets, power packs, and transmission systems
• Diagnose and identify wear and tear, escalating repair requirements to the Electrical Team Leader
• Carry out electrical repairs on parts and equipment as required
• Complete all documentation accurately, including inspection sheets and sign-off records
• Follow written and verbal instructions while working to realistic timeframes
• Undertake training and development as required

The Role

Are you an experienced Panel Wirer or Harness Builder with a background in automotive or rail systems? This is an excellent opportunity for a Panel Wirer to join a well‑established production environment within a globally recognised engineering organisation, supporting the manufacture and repair of high‑quality electrical harnesses and assemblies.

This role is ideal for a practical, safety‑focused Panel Wirer who takes pride in producing work to drawing and instruction, thrives in a fast‑paced production setting, and values quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacture conduit and concentric layered electrical harnesses to current drawings and instructions
• Inspect, test, and repair electrical harnesses, control cabinets, power packs, and transmission systems
• Diagnose and identify unfair wear and tear, escalating repair requirements to the Electrical Team Leader
• Carry out electrical repairs on parts and equipment as required
• Complete all documentation accurately, including inspection sheets and sign‑off records
