Job summary

St Michael’s Hospice in Hampshire invites applications for a Hospice Doctor/Specialty Doctor to join our medical team of Consultants and Specialty Doctors. The role includes on-call duties and support for inpatient and community services with emphasis on palliative care.

Qualifications

• Passion for a holistic approach to care, teamwork and good communication.
• Experience in palliative medicine or foundation training with an interest in palliative medicine.
• Willing to learn and be flexible to support the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Work mainly within the inpatient unit while supporting community-based services such as Hospice at Home and Living Well Services.
• Part of a 1-in-5 on-call rota with non-resident weekday nights and on-site weekend responsibilities; first-on-call supported by a consultant.
• Induction and supervised development in specialist palliative medicine with designated supervision and CPD opportunities.
